Re: UEFA propose FA Cup winners get CL spot (conditional)
Yet another indicator as to how totally corrupt football has become, no doubt in my mind this is another capitulation to the so called big six for not withdrawing from the premiership. Next season 5 subs which benefits the big money spenders, the following season an extra place in the Champions League provided you have form (history) in European competitions.

They should have been kicked out of the Premiership when they announced their plans to set up the 'super league' but sky would have withdrawn some financial support which no doubt would have hit the pockets of those who administer the game. Sickening, and no doubt more major rule changes to follow.

Actually, as things now stand, unless Palace win the FA cup then Man Utd could go through to the CL in place of Arsenal, even if they finish 7th.

That would be pretty ridiculous.

Basically another rule they're taking from the proposed super League bollox then.

Footballs a joke now. Got refs using computers and still fucking it up weekly. Corruption with owners. Lower league teams going into administration every season.

They've already started this process by the EL being a free ride for the CL teams who get elimanted from that competition early on.
By creating the CONFERENCE CUP they have said to the wanna b's of Europe "here's a competition for you to go and play with we're looking after the elite".
They've been really sneaky in adopting this competion and making the EL less accessible.
I haven't heard any media mention one thing about the change in format. As long as the big 6 get in the EL or CL they don't care.
They are all hypocrites supposedly loving the romance of the FA Cup but loving it with the semi finals involving the top 3. Another boring City v Liverpool bore fest. Klopp playing down that they are favourites.
WOULD LOVE IT,LOVE IT if Man Utd don't make Europe. Wouldn't that be ironic.

Re: UEFA propose FA Cup winners get CL spot (conditional)
It's not really what it seems from the article.

This is basically about getting the additional 4 teams to make up 36 in total. In UEFA's own words, two places are awarded to: "the two clubs with the highest club coefficients that have not qualified automatically for the Champions League’s league stage, but have qualified either for the Champions League qualification phase or the Europa League/the Europa Conference League."

So, this could be an FA cup winner, or the 5th or 6th place PL team, or no English team at all, if clubs from other countries qualifying for the EL/ECL have higher coefficients. As all the European league tables stand now, the 2 places would go to Roma and Arsenal, regardless of who wins the FA cup.

I suppose this proposal is probably better for West Ham than the likely alternative, which would be these extra places going to foreign teams, although currently it would require 2 of the big 6 not even qualifying for the ECL, which seems unlikely. As it stands we're currently below Wolves and Leicester in the coefficient rankings, but that will change if we go further in the EL.

No, it’s neither, discussed on Talksport today.

Complete Bollocks!

That mean the Continental/ European Football Associations would want their cup winners to be in the Champions League.

This is dated 2 April so it its either a day late or a load of speculative bollocks, not because I wouldn't put it beyond the old boys firm who run the game, but because I cannot possibly think this they can imagine would have chance of passing muster without another populist fan uproar. Very much the same reaction to the ESL 6 footballing insurrection, for which we are still waiting for our spineless authorities to hand out the punishment.
